Dresden - Business and Event Location

More than 2,200 companies with around 58,000 employees in the fields of microelectronics, information technology, communications technology and biotechnology make Dresden Europe's No. 1 microelectronics location. In addition to the semiconductor industry, neighboring fields such as photonics, software and display technology are also important for the region.  As a result, a great deal of know-how has developed in Dresden, which will allow the microelectronics cluster to continue to grow.

More than one million people live and work in the direct catchment area of Dresden, the metropolis on the Elbe. In addition, Dresden is one of the few cities in eastern Germany whose population is steadily increasing. Dresden is also a cultural city of European standing and an attractive tourist destination.
