Leveraging the Digital Twin to boost Semiconductor Manufacturing factory productivity

The semiconductor industry is aggressively working towards smart manufacturing (SM) goals to achieve zero defects and optimize factory productivity. One key SM technology receiving considerable attention is the so-called “digital twin” (DT).
The semiconductor manufacturing factories have been using digital twin technology for 10+ years. The manufacturing community is coming to consensus on digital twin definitions and the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IRDS) is incorporating the DT vision in their future factory roadmap.

In this presentation we will focus on how DT is being used in semiconductor manufacturing facilities and enabling to improve quality and throughput while reducing overall costs. We will also provide framework for digital twin that supports reusability, extensibility and interoperability and illustrate how the semiconductor manufacturing is well-positioned for leverage DT as Cloud, Big Data and AI/ML technologies continue to mature in future.
