The possibilities of the fourth industrial revolution and the accompanying digitization in production are clear: these developing technologies will help to standardize, automate, and optimize production processes which support the common goal of maintaining a competitive advantage in the global marketplace. The 16th annual international “Innovation Forum for Automation” will take place from January 24 to 25, 2019 in Dresden, Germany. Automation specialists and international technology companies will be demonstrating successful application examples for Industry 4.0.
The expert forum is aimed at corporate decision-makers and specialists who are looking for technologies, methods, and solutions to gradually optimize their industrial production processes so that they can react quickly, and flexibly, to changing customer requirements in production.
The practical examples that are shared provide insights into the future of factory automation. Experts focus their lectures on the benefits of a networked manufacturing execution system (MES) and real-time responses to everchanging manufacturing needs. Other key topics include the construction of the new Robert Bosch 300 mm wafer factory in Dresden, automation options in R&D fabs, and the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies in complex automation scenarios.
The international “Innovation Forum for Automation” is organized by Automation Network Dresden and includes the four German automation specialists AIS Automation Dresden, Fabmatics, SYSTEMA, and XENON Automatisierungstechnik.
The lectures will focus on industry examples from the semiconductor and electronics industries. Among the thematic highlights are presentations by:
- Otto Graf (Robert Bosch) talks about the construction of the new 300mm wafer factory in Dresden
- Frank Navarrete (Magic Leap) shares experiences realizing an unconventional solution for a factory automation system, and successful implementation of various mobile and stationary robotic solutions in their production line, for the AR-headset “Magic Leap One”. Magic Leap will be awarded with the “Innovation Award”.
- Dr. Karlheinz Leonardi (Nexperia) talks about the introduction of a dispatching solution in a Nexperia front-end Fab.
