Automation Maturity Roadmap for Legacy 200mm Fabs

As fabs face rising cost pressure, critical talent shortages, and growing demands from automotive, power electronics, and speciality markets, the need for higher levels of
automation and autonomy in 200 mm fabs is becoming increasingly urgent. However, many fabs remain constrained by legacy toolsets, fragmented data, and ad hoc automation initiatives that lack a clear system-level roadmap.

Dennis Xenos, Co-founder and CTO of Flexciton, is co-leading a SEMI Smart Manufacturing initiative to develop an Automation and Autonomy Maturity Framework specifically for 200 mm fabs. In his presentation, Dennis will provide an overview of the initiative and explain how the framework enables fabs to assess and benchmark their current maturity, from M0 to M4, across seven key operational domains. He will also share early insights from interviews with participating fabs, highlighting common patterns and gaps observed so far.
